The Women’s Organic Farming Cooperative is intended to promote the economic viability and environmental sustainability of organic farming in the country, while enhancing the quality of life of Timorese women, through increased agricultural skills and financial independence.

ORGANIC FARM
It currently operates in Maubisse, and its produce supplies the Leublora Green Villas and Organic Restaurant. Vegetables and fruit are also available for sale and, in the future, the hope is that the cooperative’s products will be found in restaurants, stores and homes across Timor-Leste. LIVESTOCK SUPPORT
LGV provides chickens and pigs to each farming group that it works with. It also promotes experiential learning on how to care for and breed the livestock. Farming groups return some of the offspring to the overall cooperative to facilitate its expansion into new areas.
NUTRITION PACKET
LGV provides nutrition packets (consisting mainly of eggs, butter, milk, oil, rice, vegetables and fruits) every month for the duration of a year, to the 10 poorest families in the community. The contents of all nutrition packets are harvested in the organic farm
